Class information
Welcome to our studio
-
Our pottery classes are designed to be relaxing and fun, while also building a solid foundation of hand-building skills for working with clay. Create your next ceramic masterpiece, explore new techniques and develop your artistic style under the gentle guidance of our friendly & experienced tutor.
-
We care about your learning journey and want to support you in the best way possible. To ensure you receive as much individual attention and support as you need, we keep our classes small with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 4-7 participants.
In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, we'll let you know via email straight away.
-
Feel at home and empowered to freely express your creativity as we discover the exciting world of clay together. Our classes have a strong focus on creating an environment that promotes diversity, belonging and inclusion, and welcomes individuals of all ages, backgrounds, orientations and creative abilities.
COVID-19 and class changes
-
Everyday Clay is committed to protecting the health and safety of all participants. In line with Australian Government advice, we have implemented the following protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19:
• Frequent and thorough sanitisation of tools before and after each class
• Disinfection of touch surfaces (e.g., tables, door handles, taps) before and after each class
• Provision of additional tools to reduce sharing between participants
If a class is cancelled due to a lockdown, participants will be notified immediately and the class will be rescheduled. Participants are eligible for a full refund if they are unable to make the rescheduled date(s) due to COVID-19. -
Please allow at least 21 days (3+ weeks) written notice prior to your class commencing to be entitled for a full refund or store credit.
If 14-20 days written notice is given, we can issue a partial refund or store credit of 50% of your class fee, but not makeup sessions, as it is likely that class preparations for your attendance would have begun.
If less than 14 days written notice is given, we are unable to offer any refunds, store credits or makeup sessions.
All booking dates are final and no swaps are allowed (i.e, no changes to another class date either for the same or different class).
Extenuating circumstances: Makeup sessions can be offered within 20 days of your scheduled studio class only due to extenuating circumstances, where supporting documentation is provided in writing (e.g., a doctor’s note stating the medical condition, positive COVID-19 test result). Please email us before your class at hello@everydayclay.com.au along with relevant documentation, to be eligible for consideration under our extenuating circumstances policy for studio classes.
For our complete refund and cancellation policy, please see our FAQs page.
About your tutor
-
Amanda Reishi is the artist behind Everyday Clay and she’ll also be your class tutor. She has over 3 years of experience teaching pottery classes and brings her energy, passion and enthusiasm for clay wherever she goes.
In her practice, Amanda specialises in hand-building techniques and the use of simple tools to create quality and timeless pieces. Her pottery is known for its playful and modern aesthetic, and many of her works have sold across Australia and overseas.
Although a pottery wheel is preferred by many artists for its ease and production speed, Amanda teaches how beautiful ceramics can be made entirely by hand and not by machine. She’s on a mission to share the beauty and appeal of hand-building methods as a complementary equal to wheel throwing.
